Back from Katahdin. Andy, Amicis, Gered and I climbed the Great Mountain in 8 hours and 22 minutes. We probably could've done better if it weren't for the giant log in the trail at head level.

For posterity sake, we climbed the Cathedral trail up to the peak, over Knife's Edge, and down Helon Taylor. Up Cathedral was 2000 feet of basically rock climbing with a few feet of hiking. Around the Knife's Edge was perilous; thanks to Andy and Amicis for talking me through it. Down Helon Taylor was your knee's worse nightmare.

Thankfully we did it on 3 hours sleep (on the side of the road outside of the gate). It was a beautiful day followed by some more excellent days canoeing, camping, and hiking in northern Baxter.

Even though next week is supposed to be like summer again, we got a little taste of sweater weather!

Kristyle's 25th Birthday

Well I'm a quarter of a century years old. And to celebrate this momentous occasion, we had pizza cake and champagne. Keith was out with the boys hiking Mt. Katahdin, so we had a girls only party here at the house. My favorite part of my birthday...my new shoes (from Michelle)!

A look back on the Summer...

Well it's been a busy summer, as you can tell by the lack of posts! But heres a recap: Lots of playing at parks, a couple of picnics, lots of time in the sandbox, some playdates at the beach and the childrens museum, and a day at the Danville (VT) fair. There was also a 2 week trip to SC in August (pictures coming soon). Summer days are over, but Oliver is back with us full time, the leaves are falling and we are all excited for apple picking! We'll have a post for that soon I'm sure...so stay tuned for Fall Fun.
